Xero MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol server bridging MCP clients to Xero's accounting API, covering OAuth2 authentication, contacts, chart of accounts and invoice management.

Xero MCP Server

This MCP server implements a bridge between the MCP protocol and Xero's accounting and business API, so an MCP client can authenticate to a Xero organization and manage contacts, the chart of accounts, and invoices. It supports two authentication modes, including OAuth2 with per-organization custom connections, recommended for testing, development and third-party MCP client integration such as Claude Desktop, with required scopes depending on when the connection was created and an automatic fallback between scope versions.

New users are pointed toward a free-trial Demo Company preloaded with sample data, with region set to New Zealand or the UK for payroll-specific queries. It requires Node.js 18 or newer and a Xero developer account with API credentials.
