YouTube MCP Server

An MCP server that downloads YouTube subtitles with yt-dlp and exposes them to Claude, so an agent can summarize a YouTube video from its URL.

YouTube MCP Server

This YouTube MCP server uses yt-dlp to download subtitles from a YouTube video and connects that data to claude.ai through the Model Context Protocol. A user can ask Claude to summarize a given YouTube video, and the server supplies the transcript for it to work from.

It requires yt-dlp to be installed locally, for example through Homebrew, and installs into a Claude configuration through the mcp-installer tool under the name anaisbetts/mcp-youtube.
