ZCode

An AI coding workbench from Z.ai that provides a desktop application, a browser interface, and a terminal agent from one shared codebase.

ZCode

ZCode bundles a client, backend services, shared UI, and an agent CLI and runtime into one repository. The desktop app runs on Electron, preparing local and optionally remote resources before launching; a web mode starts a development server and a separate backend so the interface is reached through a browser; and a packaged command-line release provides a terminal UI, a web mode, or direct access to the underlying agent CLI, all running locally without Electron.

The web server can bind to a local address only, or to a network address with an access token required by default. Development uses pnpm workspaces, with commands to bootstrap dependencies, prepare desktop or remote runtime assets, and build each package.

It is written in TypeScript and distributed under the Apache-2.0 license.
