zvec-node

Node.js bindings for Zvec, an open-source, in-process vector database that embeds directly into applications for low-latency similarity search without a separate server.

zvec-node

zvec-node is the official Node.js binding for Zvec, an in-process vector database designed to embed directly into applications rather than run as a separate service. It supports dense and sparse embeddings, multiple vector index types, and hybrid search that fuses vector similarity, full-text search and structured filters in one query.

Storage is durable through write-ahead logging, so data survives a process crash or power failure. Multiple processes can read a collection concurrently, though writes are limited to a single process.

It installs with npm, runs on Linux, macOS and Windows on x86_64 and ARM64, and can also be built from source. The underlying Zvec engine is described as used in production within Alibaba Group.
