3d retro graphics

A free, CC0-licensed library of copy-paste retro 3D and demoscene graphics effects, such as plasma, raytracing, and voxel terrain, runnable as WebGL 1 or plain 2D canvas.

3d retro graphics

3d retro graphics is a library of old workstation and demoscene graphics tricks meant to be copied directly into a web page. Effects include a plasma color-field shader, a hyperspace starfield, a Whitted raytracer with reflective spheres, a raymarched metaball scene, an ASCII-rendered rotating torus, a 2D fluid simulation, a Wolfenstein-style raycaster, and a voxel heightmap renderer, among others, spanning demoscene and early 3D graphics techniques from the 1970s through the 1990s.

Each effect is implemented as WebGL 1 or a plain 2D canvas element, with most responding to pointer or drag input for interaction, such as orbiting a shape or steering through a scene.

Everything on the site is released under the CC0 public-domain license, so any of the effects can be reused without attribution.
