Beagle
An independent, statically typed Lisp derived from Clojure, with one checker and canonicalizer that targets Clojure, JavaScript and Nix as hosted profiles, plus an experimental native compilation path.
Beagle keeps Clojure's syntax, form library and s-expression-based authoring model, but replaces its types, effects, execution model and memory model with its own. Clojure forms are inherited where their semantics already fit Beagle, and named explicitly where they differ. A single parser, checker, canonicalizer and diagnostic path emits idiomatic source for each hosted runtime: Clojure, JavaScript and Nix. An experimental Native Core path freezes a checked native program before materializing it through a C17, QBE, or C17/WASI Wasm bootstrap.
Static types check at compile time and erase before emit, while an explicitly authored binding constraint remains as an ordinary runtime predicate. Beagle Store is a separate, optional in-repo engine for recursive terms and triples, occurrence history, queries, indexes and provenance, which applications can use without adopting Beagle's language frontend.
It runs from a Nix flake devshell, with no database or coordinator required, and exposes its own compiler-owned commands, such as beagle langs and beagle syntax, to query its current profiles and forms.
