Brian2

A Python simulator for spiking neural networks used in computational neuroscience, designed to be easy to learn, flexible and extensible.

Brian2

Brian2 is a free, open-source, clock-driven simulator for spiking neural networks, written in Python and available on most platforms. It is aimed at researchers modeling biological neural systems and is designed to save the time of the scientist writing a model, not only the processor running it, by being easy to learn, highly flexible, and easily extensible.

It depends on NumPy, SymPy, Cython, PyParsing, Jinja2 and related scientific Python packages, with GSL, SciPy and Matplotlib recommended for full functionality. It is released under the CeCILL 2.1 license, and its authors ask that published research using Brian cite the accompanying paper in eLife.
