Claude Status Bar

Claude Status Bar is a small macOS menu bar app that shows Claude Code's live status: an animated icon while it's thinking or running a tool, a dot when it needs your permission, and the elapsed time of the current turn.

Claude Status Bar

Claude Status Bar is a lightweight macOS menu bar app for keeping track of Claude Code without a window or dock icon. It shows an animated icon while Claude Code is thinking or running a tool, with a short label such as Editing, Reading or Running command, a yellow dot when it is waiting for the user's permission, and an elapsed-time timer for the current turn; it rests on the Claude logo when idle.

It installs with Homebrew or as a signed and notarized DMG, and on first launch it wires up Claude Code's hooks automatically so the app starts itself whenever a Claude Code session runs. Updates are detected automatically and can be applied through Homebrew or by downloading a new DMG, and sessions already open when the app updates pick up the change the next time they prompt or call a tool.

It has no usage dashboards and does not add a dock icon.
