CodexBar
A macOS and Linux menu bar app that shows usage limits, reset windows, credit balances and live status for AI coding providers such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code, without requiring a separate login.
CodexBar is a small menu bar app that keeps AI coding-provider usage limits visible and shows when each limit window resets, so a developer can plan around them instead of guessing whether to start a long task. It shows one status item per provider, or a merged icon with a provider switcher.
It shows per-provider session, weekly and monthly windows with countdowns, credit balances, Admin API spend dashboards, provider billing summaries and local cost scans where the source exposes enough detail, and surfaces provider incident status in the menu and on the bar icon. It is privacy-first: it reuses a provider's existing session, such as OAuth, a device flow, an API key or browser cookies, so no separate passwords are stored.
It runs as a native macOS 14+ menu bar app, and as a Linux desktop app for Wayland and X11 with its own settings and notifications, alongside a separate command-line interface. It is written in Swift, with the Linux app built on Qt 6, and is licensed under the MIT license.
