CVXPY

A Python-embedded modeling language for convex optimization that lets a problem be expressed in natural mathematical form and solved with open-source solvers such as Clarabel, SCS, OSQP, and HiGHS.

CVXPY

CVXPY is a Python-embedded modeling language for convex optimization problems. It lets a problem be expressed in a natural way that follows the underlying mathematics, rather than in the restrictive standard form that solvers usually require, and it can model convex, mixed-integer convex, geometric, quasiconvex, and nonlinear programs.

CVXPY is not itself a solver: it relies on open-source solvers such as Clarabel, SCS, OSQP, and HiGHS, with additional solvers installable separately. It began as a Stanford University research project and is now developed by contributors across many institutions and countries. It installs from PyPI or conda-forge, and its documentation includes a tutorial, an example library, and an API reference.
