F´ (F Prime)
A component-driven C++ framework from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory for building flight software and other embedded applications, with modeling tools that generate code and a bootstrapping CLI.
F´ is a component-driven framework for rapid development of spaceflight and other embedded software, originally built at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and deployed on several space missions, including small-scale platforms such as CubeSats and SmallSats.
It decomposes flight software into discrete components with well-defined interfaces, provides a C++ core with message queues and threads, and includes modeling tools that specify components and connections and generate code from them, along with a growing library of ready-to-use components and testing tools for unit and integration testing.
A fprime-bootstrap Python tool creates new F´ projects, and building one requires Linux, Windows with WSL or macOS, Git, Python 3.10 or later, and a Clang or GNU C/C++ compiler; an optional Rust toolchain is needed only for components that depend on it.
