fake-bpy-module

A collection of fake Blender Python API modules that gives IDEs working code completion and type hints for Blender add-on development, without needing Blender itself installed.

fake-bpy-module

fake-bpy-module provides stub versions of Blender's Python API (bpy) so that commonly used IDEs can offer code completion while writing Blender add-ons or scripts. It uses Python's typing module and type hints, requiring Python 3.8 or later.

It is installed as a pip package, either for a specific Blender version or for the latest daily build, and modules can also be generated and installed manually. A companion project, fake-bge-module, covers the Blender Game Engine API for UPBGE.

PyCharm users may need to raise the idea.max.intellisense.filesize setting, since some generated modules are large enough to otherwise be skipped by IntelliSense.
