jebi

A terminal emulator for Mac with built-in local AI that explains failed commands, suggests what to run next, and answers questions about the current session, entirely offline through llama.cpp with no API key.

jebi

jebi runs local language models through llama.cpp to explain why a command failed and how to fix it, suggest three next commands as clickable chips after every run, and answer natural-language questions about the terminal session, all without an API key, subscription or cloud connection. It ships with seven bundled models to choose from, including small Qwen3 and Gemma 3 variants, managed from a preferences panel that can download, switch and delete models.

Beyond its AI features it adds slash commands for a file explorer, a live network-port inspector and a Makefile or npm script picker, multiple tabs and split panes, git and language-runtime status segments in the prompt, and WebGL-accelerated rendering through xterm.js. It requires an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later and installs through Homebrew or a downloaded DMG.
