jevlang
A Python source preprocessor where every if, elif, while and match statement is decided by an LLM reading the surrounding code and variables, instead of by Python's own rules.
jevlang is a Python codec-based source preprocessor in which every if, elif, while and match block (ternaries and list comprehensions excepted) is decided by an external backend called Jev rather than by evaluating the condition as ordinary Python. Each block header is rewritten into a runtime call carrying the condition's text, its line number and the current locals; at runtime this gathers the variables in scope, a few lines of surrounding source with the current line marked, and how many times that line has run, then asks the backend for a decision. Unless an environment variable forces plain Python evaluation, even ordinary-looking conditionals are evaluated this way.
match statements are rewritten similarly: Jev is shown the subject and every case pattern and picks one, with each Python case rewritten so real capture variables and guards still bind correctly. A flag prints the rewritten source for inspection, and the package installs in editable mode with a CLI for running files directly.
It is written in Python and installs with uv or pip.
