Jolt Physics
A multi-core-friendly C++ rigid-body physics and collision-detection library for games and VR, built for deterministic simulation and used in shipped titles such as Horizon Forbidden West.
Jolt Physics is a rigid-body physics and collision-detection library written in C++, designed around concurrent access to physics data from multiple threads: bodies can be loaded or unloaded in the background, and collision queries can run alongside the main simulation step by splitting broad-phase and narrow-phase checks.
Bodies do not wake automatically when created or when neighboring bodies are removed, avoiding needless performance costs during loading, and the simulation runs deterministically so a remote client can replicate it by replaying only the inputs.
It targets games and VR applications rather than full real-world accuracy, and is used in commercial titles including Horizon Forbidden West and Death Stranding 2.
