mpmath

A Python library for arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic, providing numerical methods, special functions and complex-number support.

mpmath

mpmath is a Python library for arbitrary-precision floating-point arithmetic, covering areas such as special functions, numerical integration, numerical optimization, ordinary differential equations, complex numbers and plotting. It lets calculations run at whatever precision a program needs rather than being fixed to native floating-point width.

The project has been developed by a long list of contributors over many years, with early work sponsored through the Google Summer of Code program and a grant from the American Institute of Mathematics, and it credits the GMP, MPFR and pari/gp libraries for helping it run faster and implement its algorithms correctly.

It is released under the BSD-3-Clause license.
