Performance Studio

A cross-platform SQL Server execution plan analyzer with a desktop GUI, a CLI, and a built-in MCP server, that parses .sqlplan files, flags performance problems, and suggests missing indexes.

Performance Studio

Performance Studio parses SQL Server execution plan files and analyzes them from either a desktop GUI or the command line. It shows the plan tree with SSMS-style operator icons, cost and row-count annotations, and warning badges, and a Plan Insights panel summarizes runtime data, missing indexes, parameters, and wait statistics. Severity-scored advice cards summarize each statement's warnings for pasting into a ticket, and a plan-comparison view scores each statement as regressed or improved with a per-metric delta.

It connects directly to a SQL Server instance to capture plans, navigates multi-statement batches and stored procedures, and can pull top queries by CPU, duration, reads, writes, or executions straight from Query Store.

Its built-in MCP server lets Claude Code analyze loaded plans, identify warnings, suggest indexes, and compare plans directly, with an optional compact output format for the responses. It is written in C# with a cross-platform GUI and also ships an SSMS extension.
