Plate

A rich-text editor framework for React with AI features and shadcn/ui components, built around a headless plugin system for the underlying Slate editor.

Plate

Plate is a rich-text editor framework for React, designed for simplicity and efficiency, built from four parts: a core plugin system for slate-react that keeps the underlying editor logic organized; a large selection of plugin packages that add editor behaviors, hooks, serialization and normalization; headless, unstyled and accessible primitive hooks and components built on Radix UI; and a set of pre-styled components, created with a Plate CLI and shadcn/ui, meant as a starting point for a project's own component library.

Three starter templates are available: a Notion-like template with plugins, AI features and a backend included, a playground template with plugins and AI but no backend, and a minimal template with just the core editor. Contributors are invited to share their own plugins with the project alongside filing pull requests, and documentation, including a Chinese-language version, is maintained for getting started and contributing.
