RMUX

A cross-platform, tmux-compatible terminal multiplexer engine written in Rust, drivable as a standalone CLI or through typed Rust, Python, and TypeScript SDKs.

RMUX

RMUX is an async, typed terminal multiplexer engine that implements more than 90 tmux commands and runs natively on Linux, macOS, and Windows without requiring WSL. It can be used as a standalone command-line multiplexer, embedded in a Rust terminal application via a Ratatui widget that renders live RMUX panes, or driven from code through typed SDKs for Rust, Python, and TypeScript to automate or orchestrate terminal sessions.

It also supports browser-shared sessions with end-to-end encryption for its web-share feature, and keeps shells, panes, windows, sessions, and scrollback on the local machine through a local daemon architecture. It is distributed through common package managers such as Homebrew, WinGet, Scoop, Chocolatey, Cargo, and Nix, as well as direct binary downloads.
