Cody for Visual Studio

Sourcegraph's AI code assistant for Visual Studio, providing codebase-aware chat, multi-line autocomplete, a prompt library, and a choice of underlying models such as Claude, Gemini and GPT.

Cody for Visual Studio

Cody's chat can include enhanced context drawn from the open project, or a specific file or symbol can be tagged to refine a question, answering things such as how secret storage is implemented on a given platform, where a piece of CI configuration lives, or why a resolver is returning an error. Its auto-edit feature autocompletes single lines or whole functions in any programming language, configuration file or documentation.

Built-in and user-created prompts, saved in a shared Prompt Library, streamline understanding, improving, fixing, documenting and generating tests for code. Cody is aimed at team-wide consistency through whole-codebase context and shared prompts rather than only individual productivity, with flexible deployment and support for enterprise security and compliance requirements, and is also available across other IDEs beyond Visual Studio.
