copilot.lua

A Lua replacement for the copilot.vim plugin that brings GitHub Copilot suggestions and chat into Neovim with lower overhead and a native language server.

copilot.lua

copilot.lua is a Neovim plugin that replaces copilot.vim with a pure Lua implementation, written to reduce CPU overhead and integrate more smoothly with existing completion plugins than copilot.vim's ghost text. It defaults to a native Copilot language server that is downloaded on first use, cached locally, version-pinned and verified with SHA-256 checksums.

Native binaries are supported on Linux (glibc, x64 and arm64), macOS (x64 and arm64) and Windows (x64 and arm64); other systems such as musl Linux fall back to a Node.js-based server. Configuration covers the suggestion panel, highlight groups, file types, logging and workspace folders, and authentication is done through the Copilot auth command or a GitHub CLI token.

It requires Neovim 0.11.0 or newer and is licensed under MIT.
