Lithe

A low-memory IntelliJ IDEA alternative for Java and Spring Boot development, built to review, run and debug code that an AI coding tool has already written.

Lithe

Lithe is a lightweight IDE for Java and Spring Boot development, aimed at developers who use Codex, Claude Code or similar AI coding tools for implementation but still need an IDE to browse the generated code, follow symbols, run and debug the project, and review diffs. It keeps core workflows for browsing, editing, navigation, search, Maven, run and debug, Git diff review, local history and databases.

It typically uses 300-400 MB of baseline memory after opening a regular project, starting language servers, terminals, build tools, debuggers and database helpers on demand rather than keeping them resident, so actual usage varies by project.

It is distributed for macOS via GitHub Releases and Homebrew.
