Nanobrowser

Nanobrowser is an open-source Chrome extension for AI-powered web automation, positioned as a free alternative to OpenAI Operator. It runs a multi-agent system in the browser, in which a Planner agent breaks down a task and self-corrects when it hits obstacles, while a Navigator agent carries out the resulting steps on the page.

Everything runs locally in the user's own browser using their own API keys, so credentials are never shared with an external service; supported model providers include OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Ollama, Groq, Cerebras, Llama and custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints, with different models assignable to different agents. An interactive side panel provides a chat interface with real-time status updates, follow-up questions about a completed task, and a history of past interactions.

It is officially supported on Chrome and Edge; Firefox, Safari and other Chromium-based browsers are not supported.

A desktop AI agent for Windows that executes terminal commands, manages files, writes and runs code, browses the web and reads the screen, acting on natural-language requests rather than only answering them.
