Voktty
A lightweight, open-source terminal-first AI-native development environment built on Tauri, Rust and React, combining a PTY terminal, an IDE workbench, AI agents, Git and remote-environment controls in one desktop app.
Voktty combines a native PTY and WebGL terminal with an IDE workbench, AI agents, Git tooling, remote environments, infrastructure controls and collaboration features in a single roughly 7 to 8 MB desktop application, with no telemetry and no account required. Its terminal can switch a live shell between a conventional xterm.js view and command-aware blocks without restarting the shell, supports PowerShell, Command Prompt, Bash, Zsh and Fish with native prompt and exit-code tracking, and detects and runs scripts from files such as package.json, Cargo.toml or a Makefile.
Its terminal AI generates context-aware commands inline, accepts natural-language tasks from the terminal input with a preview before execution, and can explain or fix failed command blocks. The workspace supports up to eight split panes and persistent flat visual spaces, and a private-terminal mode keeps a session's buffer unavailable to Voktty's own AI tools and process tracking.
